Hoy la comunidad hispana del estado de Washington despertó con una triste noticia, nuestro querido Ernie Aguilar nos había dicho adios.  Aún recuerdo que el día que lo conocí, estaba muy nerviosa, pues sabíia que él era una persona muy importante en nuestra comunidad.  Sinembargo, no pasaron ni dos segundos cuando todos mis miedos al estar frente a Ernie desaparecieron y supe entonces que no solo estaba frente a un hombre hispano muy importante, pero ante un ser humano exraordinario.

Ernie era el tipo de persona con la que podias contar siempre. Recuerdo verlo siempre tratando de ayudar a nuestra comunidad y como muestra está la Cámara de Comercio Hispana, La Fundación de Becas Ernest I.J. Aguilar Scholarship Fund para apoyar a los Hispanos a ir a la escuela de negocios en la Universidad de Washington.

Sin duda nuestra comunidad a perdido a un gran lider, pero su memoria estará siempre presente, en cada estudiante hispano que se gradue,  en cada lider hipano  nuevo que surja y  en cado uno de nosotros que gracias a su gran esfuerzo y dedicación podemos gozar de una vida mejor.  Descanse en Paz Nuestro Gran Heroe Hipano, Ernest “Ernie” I.J. Aguilar.

Today the Hispanic community of Washington State woke up with the sad news that our dear Ernie Aguilar had passed away.  I still remember the first day I met him, I was very nervous, because I knew that he was a very important person among the Hispanic community.  However, it took me only two seconds to be freed from my fears, I was not only in front of a very important Hispanic man, but in front of an extraordinary human being.

Ernie was the type of person that you can always count on.  I remember seeing him always working to help our community and as a sample of his great efforts we have the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Ernest I.J. Aguilar Scholarship Fund to support Hispanic students to attend the School of Business of the University of Washington.

Without a doubt our community has lost a great leader, but his memory will always be present; in every Hispanic student that graduates, in each new Hispanic leader and in each of us, because thanks to his efforts and dedication we can have a better life. Rest in Peace Our Hispanic Leader, Ernest “Ernie”  I.J. Aguilar.
